Day 24

Into the sun

I know we are told not to look directly
into the sun, but sometimes I get
interesting compositions this way.

Day 23

More Peas Pease

A few moments after she had finished her
afternoon fill of peas, I took this adorable photo.

I have such a great time taking photographs of my daughter.

Day 22

A Different Way

I shot this while driving.
My intent was to focus on the glass
keeping the background out of focus.
I was successful & I am pleased with
the outcome.

Day 21

White Out

When I left for lunch around noon today,
everything was covered with snow.
The winds were howling and the visibility
was minimal. I composed this shot on the side of the road,
in a space that has fascinated me for quite some time now.

Day 20

Self Portrait

This is a perfect example of how creativity just happens.

I was on my way downtown to shoot something for today,
when all of the sudden I noticed this building on Market St.
For some reason I felt I needed to shoot this building, so I
made a quick U-Turn.

I shot a few images outside and was not happy with any of them.
While I was in the process of shooting, I began to realize how close all of the street
traffic was to me. Cars were flying by left and right and that gave me the
idea for this series of photographs. I think it is really interesting
to see how each frame changes based on the traffic patterns behind me.

Day 19

Winter Foliage

This was just something that I found to be interesting.
Plus it is always great to see foliage during winter, since
everything looks dead in Ohio this time of year.

Day 18

Real People

This might be one of my favorite pictures so far this year.

I like to shoot the reality that I see through my lens.
Sometimes I find it difficult when
I am taking pictures of people I do not know.
I met this guy outside of the show and
asked if I could take his picture while he was washing some windows.
The great part is that he seemed to be excited that I asked him.

I really enjoyed taking this photograph.

Distant Palm

I was experimenting with shooting different ways, when i tricked the focus
on my camera. The end result was this image which was basically more of a
surprise. To me this resembles a vintage photograph, like an old
polaroid. I love it.

Day 17

Beauty in Shapes

I was in Anaheim over the weekend for the CHA show, so I was unable to
make daily updates to my blog. That being said, I still composed photographs
everyday and stuck to my daily routine. Days 17 through Day 19 were all
shot while I was in California.

I saw this image as soon as I arrived at my hotel in Anaheim. What originally
caught my eye in regards to this composition, is that it resembled a sketch
that I had recently drawn about a month ago. I though that this was both
strange and wonderful at the same time.

Adorable

I had to share this picture.
I just love this little girl.

Day 16

Sushi anyone...?

Interesting story.
I decided to grab a quick bite to eat
downtown, before heading to the
airport. I shot this picture while
enjoying my lunch, but I really wanted to
get a picture of the sou chef. As it turns out I
didn't ask him and I never got the shot, but my fortune read
"Fear is interest paid on a debt you may not owe"

So true. I need to work on this.

Day 15

Breakfast

I had a little extra time this morning, so
I headed to one of my favorite places
for coffee and some glazed goodness.

Ironically enough, I have always wanted to shoot
a picture of this beautiful vintage neon sign.
I took my camera with me, took some pics and
got caffinated. Not a bad way to start
the day.

Day 14

Signals

Today the sky was blue.
The sun was shining bright.
I was on a mission to find something interesting.
I came to an intersection and looked up.

All of the sudden I had my composition.

I enjoy days like today where magic just happens.

Day 13

Behind the lens

It was a bit of a hectic day today.

Somedays I'm just not that inspired.

The creative processes just came together for
some reason and this is the outcome.
I am actually quite satisfied with this image.
It has a haunting quality about it.

Day 12

Slow Motion

The commute to work often

becomes stale. This morning I started experimenting

with motion. I took pictures outside of my window

while driving around 7:45 am. ( I do not recommend

this on the highway)

Day 11

Abstract Vehicles

I was trying to find something interesting to shoot today, but found
it very difficult. I easily became bored with my subject matter, so I
decided to out smart the focus on my camera and shoot
some abstract images.

Sunday, January 17, 2010

Day 10

Another Day

with Lila Rae. I took this photo
on the way to do some shopping with Cherise.
She is always so happy and fun to be around.
Truly my inspiration.

Day 9

Alla Nonna Con Amore

So, a few days ago I got this idea for an image in my head.

I came to the realization that it has been nearly 7 months since my
grandma had passed away last year. I have not visited her grave since she was
first laid to rest, so I decided to visit her this morning.
I tried to find the grave early this morning,
around 8:30 am with no success. All of the tombstones
were covered with snow. I went out to the graveyard a second time
with my father and we located her grave. I wiped all of the snow off
of her tombstone and took this picture.

Day 8

Little Miss Stella Fuzzy Princess Kitty

Usually it is very difficult to acquire a photo of either my kittens
that is not blurry. For some reason it worked tonite.
So fuzzy.

Thursday, January 14, 2010

Day 7

Bellissimi Fiori

These flowers have been alive for over two weeks now.

I wanted something colorful to shoot today, since all I have been surrounded
by lately is snow. I set my camera on my tripod for a long exposure
to get additional depth of field. I am very pleased with the final result.

Wednesday, January 13, 2010

Day 6

Blue Eyes

This picture is pretty self explanatory.
I love the way her eyes sparkle.
She makes me a better person each & everyday.

Tuesday, January 12, 2010

Day 5

Dead of Winter

The winters in Northeast Ohio are often filled with gray skies
and getting inspired can sometimes prove to be a bit of a challenge.

This photo was composed early this afternoon around noon.
I tucked my pants in my boots and ventured into the cold
in search of a true composition that represents this time of year.

Monday, January 11, 2010

Day 4

Late Nite

I shot this photo last nite around 3am.
I could not sleep and was up all nite long.

Sunday, January 10, 2010

Day 3

Winter Birds

I first noticed these birds while driving down the road this morning.
They interested me, so I put my hazards on and left my frozen jeep on the side of
the road. Makes me wonder how these birds survive the bitter cold of winter.

Saturday, January 9, 2010

Day 2

Reflections

I drove around for a half an hour looking for something interesting to shoot and came up
empty.
Earlier in the morning, I got the idea for this composition which I put together a little after 2pm.

Friday, January 8, 2010

Day 1

Frozen Streets

I composed this photograph this morning around 7:40 am.
I was waiting at a traffic light, when all of the sudden I got inspired.
Somehow I managed to pull my camera out of my bag and take this
photo just as the light changed to green.

New Year's Click

So, I have decided to challenge myself and shoot something interesting everyday of the 2010. why not? My plan is to start bringing my camera with me everywhere I go and see what I come up with.
